i love stealing style from the boys.  i'm lucky that mark kind of cares about what he wears.  mind you- he's not a fashionista and doesn't wear black thank goodness- unless it's black tie.  (i just don't love black on men or children). overall, mark has pretty solid taste and an appreciation for a well made shoe.  he can be particular and prefers to buy quality over quantity (something that can be a little tough for us girls- we want lotsa shoes)!  the last pair i bought cost $34.99 at Marshalls and i only kind of like them.  i should really avoid random "bargains" and just buy a few really excellent pairs a year- i'd probably save money and love/wear all of my shoes.  hopefully as i get older this will be my M.O.- God willing.  but back to mark, he actually owns items like YSL silk scarves and will wear in the winter with his Barbour.  before you chuckle, he is English but also loves his Patagonia shorts that he encouraged me to also wear.  he actually bought me a pair when we first started dating. um. no.  (i'm all for Patagonia- just not the hiking shorts in maroon- i'll stick to lululemon if i want to take a hike).   but when i recently bought a pair of tortoise Ray Bans that he also owns he rolled his eyes.  i was like, "everybody has these sunglasses!"  he went out the next day and purchased a pair from Giorgio Armani to maintain his "originality".  regardless, i appreciate a sense of style and a bit of old school quirk when it comes to male adornment.
